How much can you actually earn on Prime Opinion?
Short answer: pocket money that adds up, not a salary. Here are the numbers without the hype, including the factors that swing them most.
Per survey
What a single survey pays
Individual surveys generally pay between $0.25 and $5. Where a given survey lands depends on two things: how long it takes, and how hard the client is finding it to reach people like you.
| Survey type | Length | Typical points | Cash value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quick opinion poll | 2–4 min | 25–80 | $0.25–$0.80 |
| Standard consumer survey | 8–12 min | 120–220 | $1.20–$2.20 |
| Longer product study | 15–25 min | 220–400 | $2.20–$4.00 |
| Niche or specialist audience | varies | up to ~500 | up to ~$5.00 |
Bands are indicative, based on publicly reported user experiences at a fixed rate of 100 points = $1. They are not a rate card and not a guarantee.
Reality check
What a realistic week looks like
The honest answer to “how much per hour?” is that the question does not quite fit. You are not paid for time on the platform; you are paid per completed survey. Two things therefore drive your total more than anything else:
- Qualification rate. How often you match the audience a client is paying for. This is mostly a function of your demographics and how complete your profile is — not effort.
- Survey supply in your country. Members in large research markets simply see more studies than members in small ones. This is the single biggest reason two people can report wildly different experiences of the same platform.
People who report the best results tend to describe the same pattern: a few minutes here and there through the day — a queue while the kettle boils, a commute, an ad break — rather than a dedicated hour-long session. Treated that way, it is a steady trickle of a few dollars that accumulates over a week. Treated as a wage, it will disappoint.
Why we will not quote you a monthly figure
Plenty of pages will tell you a confident number like “$150 a month”. There is no honest way to produce that figure, because the inputs vary by an order of magnitude between members. What we can tell you is the fixed, checkable part: joining is free, points convert at 100 to the dollar, and you can withdraw from $5 with no fee. Everything above that is a range, and anyone stating otherwise is selling you something.
Good to know
You will occasionally be screened out of a survey partway through. That happens on every survey platform, because studies target specific demographics, and it is not a sign that anything is wrong with your account. The members who earn the most keep a few surveys queued so a screen-out never wastes a whole session.
The trade-off
Is it worth your time?
Worth it if…
- You want to convert genuinely idle minutes into small amounts of cash
- A low $5 withdrawal threshold matters to you
- You would rather have PayPal or a bank transfer than store credit
- You are happy to be screened out sometimes without taking it personally
Not worth it if…
- You need a predictable hourly rate or a specific monthly amount
- You are hoping to replace part of a paycheque
- Your country has thin survey supply, which you will notice within days
- Repetitive multiple-choice questions would grate on you
